Mr. Olazabal is a vice president in the credit research group in the Newport Beach office and covers electric and gas utilities, as well as real estate investment trusts. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2007, he was a consultant with McKinsey & Company’s Orange County office and worked with a variety of corporate and private equity clients on strategic and operational issues. Mr. Olazabal previously worked in corporate development at Duke Energy, where his responsibilities included strategy formulation, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory management. He has 14 years of business management experience and holds a master’s degree in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a bachelor's degree from Princeton University.
