Newport Beach, California (March 22, 2006) – PIMCO, one of the world’s leading fixed-income asset managers, has announced the promotion of 11 employees to the position of executive vice president, 22 to the position of senior vice president and 32 to the position of vice president.
The new executive vice presidents are:
David S. Andrews
Mr. Andrews a member of PIMCO’s U.S. credit research team, where he is responsible for research coverage on autos, airlines and homebuilders. Prior to joining PIMCO, Mr. Andrews was a Director in Investment Grade Fixed Income Research at UBS Warburg/Paine Webber, where he covered US autos, transportation, aerospace/defense and capital goods. Prior to joining UBS Warburg he spent six years at Moody’s and was responsible for global ratings of all automobile companies. Mr. Andrews has twenty-two years of investment experience, holds a bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College and an MBA from the Lublin School of Business at Pace University.
W. H. Bruce Brittain
Mr. Brittain is a product manager for PIMCO's Absolute Return Strategies. He joined PIMCO in 2002, and most recently was responsible for the alternative investment advisory business at Lyster Watson & Company in New York City. Mr. Brittain has had a professional investment career spanning economic research, foreign-exchange product management, fixed-income capital markets and equity derivatives at Salomon Brothers, Swiss Bank Corporation and Lehman Brothers. He has twenty-four years of investment experience, including five in the alternative investment industry, and holds a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago.
Craig A. Dawson, CFA
Mr. Dawson is a member of PIMCO’s product management group. He focuses on Global Credit products, including investment-grade corporates, high yield, convertibles and bank loans. Mr. Dawson joined PIMCO in 1999, having been previously associated with Wilshire Associates, an investment consulting firm. He has eleven years of investment experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in quantitative economics from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA in analytic finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
G. Steven Gleason
Mr. Gleason is an account manager, with a focus on servicing institutional clients in the Midwest. He also co-heads the Healthcare Industry Group. He joined PIMCO in 2000, previously having been associated with Arbor Research and Trading, a boutique bond firm in Chicago. Before that, he traded treasury bonds for Smith Barney in Tokyo and New York. Mr. Gleason has nineteen years of investment experience and holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA in finance, with honors, from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
Michael Gomez
Mr. Gomez is a portfolio manager and a member of the Emerging Markets portfolio management team. He joined PIMCO in 2003, previously having been associated with Goldman Sachs where, in his most recent role, he was responsible for market making and proprietary trading of bonds issued by Latin American countries. Prior to that, he spent a year in Colombia serving as a financial consultant to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit. Mr. Gomez has over eleven years of investment experience and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business.
John M. Miller, CFA
Mr. Miller is an account manager, with a focus on institutional client servicing, and is co-head of the public pension plan team. In addition to those responsibilities, he manages the training and development of investment professionals new to the account management group. He joined PIMCO in 1999. Prior to that, he was an officer in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Captain. Mr. Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the United States Military Academy, West Point and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Douglas J. Ongaro, CFA
Mr. Ongaro is an account manager and a member of PIMCO’s marketing group. He joined PIMCO in 1995, previously having been associated with Charles Schwab and Bear Stearns. Mr. Ongaro has twenty years of investment experience, including both equity and fixed-income markets, and holds a bachelor's degree in finance from San Diego State University.
PeterPaul Pardi
Mr. Pardi joined PIMCO in 2002 as the Head of Institutional Remarketing for Europe and is based at the PIMCO offices in London. . Formerly, he was the head of the Southern European institutional business at Barclays Global Investors and gained extensive investment banking experience in the UK and continental Europe with Security Pacific Merchant Bank. Mr. Pardi has sixteen years of investment experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations from Tufts University, an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management, and an M.Sc. in quantitative investment management from the University of Southern California.
Steve Rodosky
Mr. Rodosky is portfolio manager with a focus on the management of treasuries, agencies and futures. He has eleven years of investment experience and previously was associated with Merrill Lynch as vice president of institutional sales. Mr. Rodosky received his bachelor’s degree in English from Villanova University and his master’s degree in financial markets from Illinois Institute of Technology.
Mihir P. Worah
Mr. Worah is a portfolio manager in the real return group and a member of the government and derivatives desk. He joined PIMCO in 2001 as a member of the analytics team and worked on term structure modeling and options pricing. Previously he was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of California, Berkeley, and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, where he built models to explain the difference between matter and anti-matter. He has a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Chicago.
Cheng-Yuan Yu
Mr. Yu is a member of the Analytics group and joined PIMCO in 1994. He has ten years of IT experience prior to joining PIMCO and was the architect and key developer of two successful commercial client server packages with two different high tech firms. At PIMCO, he has developed applications in the areas of compliance, investment operation, account management, and portfolio management as well as database operation. He is the architect and lead developer of the new dynamic risk management tool used at PIMCO. Mr. Yu holds a MS Degree from Eastern Michigan University.
