PIMCO Foundation

The PIMCO Emerging Enterprise Program

One of The PIMCO Foundation's flagship programs is the Emerging Enterprise Program (EEP), through which we donate human capital and funding to help entrepreneurs in emerging countries build new businesses and improve their lives.

Our partner in this endeavor, TechnoServe, works with enterprising people in the developing world to build competitive farms, businesses and industries. TechnoServe has worked in more than 40 countries across Africa, Latin America and Asia, assisting thousands of businesses and improving the incomes of millions of people.

TechnoServe provides business solutions to poverty by linking people to information, capital and markets. And with more than four decades of proven results, the organization believes in the power of private enterprise to transform lives.

Aligned with our firm’s culture of giving back, The PIMCO Foundation has carved out a long-term strategic partnership with TechnoServe in order to provide volunteer consultants and funding toward significant life-changing economic projects.

Each year we look to send high-potential PIMCO colleagues to locations such as Peru, Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador, on an international community service assignment. PIMCO volunteers work directly with local, in-country entrepreneurs, helping them plan for and build sustainable small businesses from the ground up.

Below, you can follow our current EEP volunteers – Andrew and Edoardo – as they report from the field on their experiences and individual projects.
