PIMCO Foundation

Global Health Corporate Champions

The Global Health Corporate Champions is a team of 5-15 corporate professionals from multiple disciplines and companies across several industries who come together for a one-month intensive, immersive experience to address global health problems.

In 2016, PIMCO joined the Global Health Corporate Champions, an activity of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Global Health Fellows Program II, which is implemented by the Public Health Institute and addresses immediate and emerging human capital needs in the global health sphere. This innovative collaborative approach brings together the diverse perspective and talent of the public, private, and social sectors to address high priority health issues.

Our 2016 and 2017 participants spent one month in Accra, Ghana, working on projects that addressed clean water, food and nutrition security, and health system strengthening – all key public health issues in underserved communities. The diverse teams leverage their business and operational expertise to improve the effectiveness of local “host” organizations, leaving in place longer term sustainable capacity.

You can read about the 2017 cohort’s projects and experiences via the blogs below.

We are looking forward to joining the Global Health Corporate Champions in Kigali, Rwanda in February 2018.
