Gloria: One of the words that I think of when I think about Austin, our city, our office, is just warm, inviting, friendly. I feel like, you come to our office, and you almost feel like you're home.

Patrick: It’s a phenomenal office here, it really is. We’re up to 250 people. We started two years ago with about 20. And what’s interesting about that is everybody is new, meaning everybody is either new to PIMCO, or they’re new to the Austin community.

Mariko: One of the things I think helps define the Austin culture has been the cross-departmental connectivity. So whether you were technology, marketing, client management, GWM, you would run into each other.

Vinod: This office was very consciously created to build very start-up-ish culture. There is not only an openness to accept various different point of views, there’s an invitation to come and talk about these different point of views.

Robin: I think what makes PIMCO stand out in this community is the people obviously, the people that we work with. And everybody is so dedicated.

Saniya: We're always so excited to get involved in the community and help in any way we can, and I think that really reflects on those that we’re helping.

Brian: We're still in growth mode, and there’s just a lot of opportunity for anyone that wants to come, to continue to contribute to that growth.

Patrick: We've seen so many people advance in terms of roles here at PIMCO, different roles that they've been promoted to here within the Austin office. I think that will only continue as the Austin office grows.

So there’s just a lot of internal traffic, there’s a lot of internal excitement, there’s a lot of growth, and there’s a lot of career opportunities here.

Matt: Austin’s this wonderful mix of big city living, and then you're five minutes away from wide open roads and trails and lakes and paddle boarding and kayaking, whatever you want to do outside.

Liam: It is a college town but there is also, you know, so much outside of the university here.

Adam: I wanted somewhere that had an inclusive culture for the LGBT community. I wanted somewhere where I could have space and that the cost of living wasn't outrageous. And of all of the places that I thought about from that list, Austin just hit every single box for me.

Danny: The one important difference from Texas and most other states is there’s no state tax, which is really nice. But the property tax is a little higher, but you definitely get your money’s worth on that, if you're coming here with kids, because you can tell that the schools are well-funded, the programs are well-funded, there’s lots of art programs, and music, and athletics.

Zara: Austin has really been a fantastic city to grow the family. I think I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how family-friendly it is.

Brian: But it also definitely delivered on the social side of the equation for me. I like to eat, I like barbecue, the Tex-Mex is amazing. I love live music, which is another thing. Unofficial live music capital of the world that definitely exceeded expectations.

Mariko: There’s something for everyone. Whether, all ages, singles, couples, families, as well as a variety of interests. With 150 people moving here every day, you are not the only one that’s new to town.

Adam: We're excited to have you, the city's excited to have you, and I think that you're going to really enjoy living here.
