Yoshiaki Kusakabe

Account Manager

Mr. Kusakabe is a senior vice president in the Tokyo office and an account manager in the financial institutions group. He is also head of the investment solutions team in Japan. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2019, he worked for BlackRock as a multi-asset portfolio manager, where since 2012 he focused on the solutions business. Previously, he worked at Nomura Asset Management as a quantitative analyst. He was also a guest scientist at Fermilab from 2003 to 2006. He has 17 years of investment experience and holds a Ph.D in physics from Waseda University, where he also earned a master’s and bachelor’s degree.
