PIMCO Foundation

Skills‑Based Volunteering

In addition to facilitating a great amount of traditional, hands-on volunteer opportunities for PIMCO employees, the PIMCO Foundation also empowers employees through skills-based volunteering (SBV).

SBV allows our employees to volunteer their time in the most effective and inspirational way, increases the value and impact we can offer our non-profit partners, and creates a more interconnected workplace. We love delivering services and programs, and building leadership and infrastructure, through SBV.

PIMCO employee volunteers, playing to their core competencies, deliver financial literacy and college-readiness programs in Orange County, New York and London via SBV opportunities. Our volunteers work directly with students on practical skills like creating a budget, saving for the future and investing basics. We sit down, one-on-one, with students to craft resumes, brainstorm about personal statements, and role play interview skills.

We firmly believe in corporate responsibility and the power of business to do good. And we believe our community impact increases dramatically through our skills-based volunteering. By tapping into our employees’ motivation to problem-solve, we can give back in a very meaningful way.
