Omid Shakernia
Head of Research, Research Affiliates
Dr. Shakernia is a partner and head of research at Research Affiliates, a subadvisor to PIMCO. He focuses on innovative research and contributes to the firm’s research publications. He is responsible for quantitative research and development in the areas of signal generation, optimization, and portfolio construction across the multi-asset strategies of Research Affiliates. Prior to joining Research Affiliates, he was a senior technical specialist at Northrop Grumman, where he conducted research and technology development for unmanned vehicles. Dr. Shakernia holds a master's degree in financial engineering from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. He also received bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.
