Georgi D. Vassilev
Financial Engineer, PM Analytics
Mr. Vassilev is an executive vice president and financial engineer in the portfolio management analytics group in the Newport Beach office. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2011, he was a manager in the financial risk management practice at KPMG, helping to develop analytical tools for companies to evaluate derivative contracts, manage portfolio risk and make asset management decisions. Mr. Vassilev was previously a quantitative consultant with Occidental Energy Marketing and a teaching assistant in economics at the University of Southern California. He has 20 years of investment and financial services experience and holds a Ph. D in economics from the University of Southern California, where he earned a master's degree in mathematical finance as well. Mr. Vassilev also holds a master's degree in international economic relations from Plovdiv University in Bulgaria.
