Niels K. Pedersen
Quantitative Research Analyst, Asset Allocation Research
Mr. Pedersen is an executive vice president and quantitative research analyst in the Newport Beach office, focusing on the development of quantitative investment strategies and valuation models across global asset markets. Dr. Pedersen also leads the development of the analytical framework for PIMCO’s retirement target date portfolios. He has published numerous research papers on asset allocation in publications such as the "Journal of International Money and Finance," the "Financial Analysts Journal" (2014 Graham and Dodd scroll award winner), and the "Journal of Derivatives and Hedge Funds". He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Aarhus University and a Ph.D. in economics from Northwestern University, where he specialized in macroeconomics and international trade.
