Sophia Zhang

Ms. Zhang is a vice president, portfolio manager, and Asia economist/strategist in the Singapore office. She focuses on macroeconomic and sovereign analysis and portfolio strategy for Asia emerging markets. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2025, she conducted Asia sovereign and macro research for Fidelity, covering sovereign, currency, and rates markets in China, major Asia economies, and frontier markets. Previously, she held roles at Schroders in Asia macro research and in fixed income portfolio management. She has 11 years of investment experience and holds a master's degree in finance from the London School of Economics and an undergraduate degree from Renmin University in Beijing.
