Portfolio Manager, Asia Emerging Markets
Mr. Ganga is a senior vice president and portfolio manager in the Singapore office, focusing on Asia emerging markets. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2021, he was a market maker in South Asia local currency rates and foreign exchange at Bank of America. Previously, he was a quantitative researcher at Nomura, focusing on cross-asset structured derivatives. He holds an MBA from Stern School of Business at New York University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
We believe the two resource-rich economies – once labeled fragile – will be global growth leaders over the next several years, driven by prudent policies and stable macro fundamentals.
As the COVID-19 recovery continues, we expect Asia’s growth-inflation dynamics to diverge from the rest of the world, led by China’s long-awaited economic reopening.
Active management appears especially important during this fast-moving cycle when dislocations are likely and capturing resulting opportunities can be key to producing alpha.
